Story of Hydel Powered Flour Mill

It is the story of small Hydel power plant which i use to visit when i visit my village. It is the story of advance technology. There was small flour mill in my village which was driven by the power of water flowing from hill. Its hard to understand why such advanced project is now closed. If you want to know more about this project, i can give you the location of this flour mill. This mill is still located at the river, when you come down from the popular Vaishno Devi Mandir in Dhangota Village, 10 kms from Bijjar, Hamirpur District in Himachal Pradesh, India. I am always wondering why people have stopped use of such advanced technology and switched to electrical machines that consumes lot of power. If you visit the place, you will find crushers running and ruining the great source of water, the shukkar khad (River) . Its difficult to understand what could be the reason of ruining environment on which our astiva depends, and life of large number of villages depends. Are we switching over to destructive technologies from constructive world ?
