Anil Kumar Agarwal was an Indian environmentalist, an eminent and committed environmentalist who gave the country its environmental concern and message. He did his mechanical engineering from IIT Kanpur, then worked as a science correspondent for the Hindustan Times publication. He founded Delhi based public interest research and advocacy organisation Centre for Science and Environment<\/strong>, who works on environmental sustainability solutions and awareness programs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vandana Shiva<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Vandana Shiva is an Indian scholar, environmental activist, food sovereignty advocate, and anti-globalization author and founder of Navdanya, Indian-based non-governmental organisation which promotes biodiversity conservation, biodiversity, organic farming, the rights of farmers, and the process of seed saving. Shiva, currently based in Delhi, has authored more than twenty books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arun Krishnamurthy <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Arun Krishnamurthy is an Indian environmental activist who has initiated the campaign of cleaning various lakes across India. He is founder of NGO, Environmentalist Foundation of India (EFI)<\/strong> which is based in Chennai and has its branches in other cities such as Hyderabad, Delhi and Coimbatore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

E.F.I focuses on scientific revival of these freshwater bodies through a community based collaborative conservation effort. We volunteer for India & her Environment.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunita Narain <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sunita Narain, an environmentalist, who uses knowledge for change is an Indian environmentalist and political activist and a major proponent of the Green concept of sustainable development. Narain is Director General of the India-based research institute the Centre for Science and Environment, director of the Society for Environmental Communications, and editor of the fortnightly magazine, Down To Earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
