Massive forest development and plantation drive was organized by EcoSikh NGO<\/a> at Shaheed Memorial Park at Tilak Vihar, Tilak Nagar, New Delhi on 16th Nov 2019. 1650 saplings were planted at the location using Miyawaki method. The forest is named as Guru Nanak Sacred Forest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

D. Akira Miyawaki<\/strong>, a botanist and expert in plants ecology invented this unique method<\/strong> of plantation. In Miyawaki method<\/strong> multi-layered saplings are planted close to each other. This blocks sunlight from reaching the ground and prevents weeds from growing, thus keeping the soil moist<\/p>\n\n\n\n
