It looks like people are still looking for solution to combat issue of congestion due to city car traffic. The best and smart way is to understand red marked routes shown up on ‘google maps’ application on your android smartphones. Red routes tells us routes which are filled with traffic congestion and if you to want to avoid them, then plan accordingly before leaving from home/shop or office. Try to make other people understand google maps to create clean traffic free environment.
In older times, emphasis was put on indirect creative learning that used to impact human beings for longer period. Today we see these kind of learnings coming into picture in the form of design thinking. To me design thinking is a mental process to create better experiences to solve big problems of visible and invisible objects in this world.
Mission Green Delhi blog allows me to experiment design thinking process using following stages –
The first stage is to get emphathic understanding of the problems related to environment and social development. To achieve this, i need to set aside my own assumptions to collect and gather as much information i can. We are trying to gather information through wattsapp groups, Linkedin surveys, and web analytics.
Once i have enough information and data, i would be generating insights based on it to basically define the need or problem area. Keeping in mind that this is not my own wish but the need or problem of Delhi public, i will define a problem statement. For eg- ‘Delhi youth and children need clean air to avoid problems related to lungs and heart’.
The third stage would be to brainstorm and ideate solutions for the defined problem statement. In above example, we have to say ‘How to encourage, educate and sensitize youth to reduce pollution level in Delhi’. We can design environment awareness campaigns like ‘Mission Green Delhi’ using creative methods like poetry, social media posts, sharing relevant content and insights in form of newsletter.
Based on our problem statement, ideation, we will start creating prototype for the solution. In this case we can create an info-graphic, video or poem based on citizens experience with pollution levels in Delhi. Discuss this prototype with few team members before taking it to next stage. This would tell us about behavior of citizens with the prototype.
Once prototyping is complete, we take the solution for user acceptance and record their inputs for further refinements and alterations. Development of prototype closes in this stage in non-linear manner.
In this way design thinking would help us in bringing ideas to life. Join ‘Innovation Center’ on wattsapp and learn more about Design Thinking process implementation. To join add my mobile number +91-9910162399 on wattsapp and PM me.
